PLANO — American Legion Leon Burson Post 395 is hosting its second annual car, truck and motorcycle show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 23 at the post, 510 E. Dearborn St.
Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with a $5 entry fee per vehicle. All entrants receive a dash plaque. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. to the top three cars, top two trucks and top two motorcycles based on voting. The Commander’s Call Trophy will be awarded to the commander’s choice car, truck and motorcycle.
Hot dogs and water will be sold outside the hall by the Open Roads Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. A pig roast meal will be served from noon to 2:30 p.m. in the upper hall. Meal tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and younger.
Live music from The Blue Lincolns and Loftus Lounge will start about noon. Bring lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the music.
United States armed forces recruiters have been invited. The United States Marine Corps Reserve unit from Joliet will be on hand and military vehicles will be displayed.

The following week, Saturday, July 30, the Legion will host a gun show from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The show is open to the public. Admission is $2. Table rental is available at $25 each with 24 tables available. For table rental, contact Larry Laughlin at 630-918-9433 or email helijok@comcast.net.
Breakfast and lunch will be available from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Legion also is raffling a Bushmaster Carbon -15 at the show. Only 400 tickets will be sold; winner must have a firearm owner’s ID card. Tickets are available at the Legion for $5 each or six for $25.
