Question by addmefacebook: How good of a chance do you think I would have winning a case against State Farm for repair of my car???
I was recently in a car crash, in which my car was hit by a car that was rear ended by another car. So, my car was first in line & I was clearly not at fault. The faulty party’s insurance company, State Farm, told me to send my car to get an estimate, which turned out to be $ 3700. When I spoke to a State Farm representative after the estimate was complete, I was informed that they would buy my car because it cost more to fix it than the vehicle itself.
I have a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville and the State Farm rep said that because of the excellent condition of my car, my vehicle’s base value is $ 1900. The value is sure to go up after I show proff of receipts for additional modifications (i.e. new paint job, stereo system, chrome rims).
However, I dont want to sell them my car. My car holds sentimental value to me because my grandfather and I worked hard together to get my vehicle to the great condition it is today and he passed away in 2006. Do you think I could win a suit against them??
I am thinking that maybe because of the sentimental value that my car holds, that they should fix my vehicle and restore me back to the way I was prior to their customer’s negligent behavior.
